TrafoStick is an online transformer oil monitoring sensor that utilizes advanced ultrasonic technology to accurately evaluate the Breakdown Voltage (BDV) of transformer insulating oil.

By analyzing the phase shift and signal amplitude of ultrasonic waves together with oil moisture content and oil temperature, the system processes the collected data using a proprietary algorithm developed by A. Eberle to provide highly accurate BDV estimation. In selected models, TrafoStick is also capable of monitoring dissolved gases, including H2 and CO, which are key indicators of incipient transformer faults.

Continuous real-time monitoring enables early detection of insulation deterioration and abnormal operating conditions, helping utilities and industrial operators minimize the risk of unexpected transformer failures, optimize maintenance planning, and support predictive maintenance strategies.
